Artist Statement : Chuck Prescott
The moment I’m able to share my work is a sigh of relief. My muse—a thought, feeling, emotion, the past, some vision; whatever one calls that inner voice yearning to be freed—has exhausted me.
The exact process never to be repeated again. My reflection/obsession fades. Or I kill it; or perhaps it just dies but not before I’ve explored every layer…concretizing as I do.
So, my medium largely paint, mixed textures, often granular, is an exploration of my mind in abstract, layers. What becomes apparent is what remains. What comes into focus or recedes appears on the canvas—my legacy.
